Audio Transcriber
Permanent Position (National)
An Audio Transcriber is primarily responsible for creating Auscript's core product - transcripts.
Audio Transcribers listen to digital audio recordings of hearings and other events to create a word-for-word translation of the recording from speech to text.
An Audio Transcriber must be diligent and thorough, but also conscious of and responsive to time restraints. Transcribers at Auscript work in teams to create the final transcript, with each typing short 'turns' that are later combined by a Document Checker.
As the words produced by an Audio Transcriber can often form a legally admissable document, the importance of high quality work cannot be stressed enough. Accordingly, to qualify for consideration, all applicants must possess a typing speed of over 80 WPM with accuracy of more than 98%.
- A typing speed of no less than 80wpm with a minimum accuracy of 98%
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, with particular emphasis on spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Availability to commit to at least 3 full days per week on a 12pm to 8pm shift, or full time hours
- A motivated and dedicated approach to work
Training will be provided to the successful candidates. Previous audio transcription experience will be highly regarded. Competitive remuneration available, directly linked to performance, therefore you must be capable of producing high quality work consistently.
Brisbane Candidates please specify which days you are able to work 12pm - 8pm. (Be advised that 3 full days is the minimum requirements, however full time positions working 12pm - 8pm, Monday - Friday are available).
