Auscript staff dig deep for flood relief
March 2011
In response to the devastating Queensland floods, Auscript offices around the country held a number of fundraising events in the weeks after the event to help those affected by the crisis. Bake sales were run in all Auscript offices with staff bringing in home baked goods to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. This event was hugely popular, with kitchens across the country transforming into bakeries for a week. In addition to the Bake Sales, several dress-down days were held with a resounding response from staff.
One entrepreneurial staff member, Evelyn Mills - Northern Production Manager, took on the title of "Lunch Lady" for a day, preparing a variety of gourmet sandwiches for staff to purchase for a donation. The sandwiches were a fundraising success, selling out in record time and were the talking point around the office for days to come.
Overall, the response to these activities highlights Auscript employees' generosity of spirit and their willingness to dig deep for other staff members who were directly affected by the floods. Auscript also made a generous pledge, matching all employee donations 'dollar for dollar'.
